Lesson 1

What is Feng Shui?

"Feng" means wind and "Shui" means water in Chinese. Feng Shui is the study, understanding and dealing with wind and water.

Feng Shui and Chinese Astrology, is the ancient wisdom handed down by our ancestors. These are the living skills that have been in use throughout the Orient for many centuries. The term Feng Shui combines the Chinese words for “wind” and “water”, which are the key factors in assessing the quality and movement of qi, or energy, in a landscape.

The practice of feng shui involves analyzing the qi of our premises. With some simple changes in the placement of furnishings or colour selection, we can improve the energy in our surroundings for great success.

Some people would be mistaken that feng shui is spiritual and religious related especially Taoism. In fact, Feng Shui is neither spiritual nor religious. It is not magic either. What is Feng Shui then?

Feng Shui is not magic, spiritual or religious practice. Feng Shui is a Metaphysic study with artistic practice. There are proven feng shui formula, and results are repeatable to a certain degree. Feng Shui is a complex ancient wisdom, which is passed down through many generations by the Chinese. It is a living skill used throughout the Orient for many centuries.

Feng Shui is a science based on formula, and it is also an art applied with common sense and personal judgment. In other words, feng shui is a science and art of selecting a living environment, where the elements and energies are in harmonious balance

Feng Shui is simple, but not an easy skill to learn. It is simple because it is based on formula. Nevertheless, it is not easy because it is an art, which you can master it through a lot of practice and experience. It sometimes requires complex calculations, and sometimes requires common sense.

Feng Shui is used to improve our life in many aspects including wealth luck, career luck, education luck, health luck, descendent luck and fame. However, wealth luck, health luck, and romance luck are those the most sought after.

In the beginning, Feng Shui was the study of how qi circulates, moves around mountains, and settles with water. This is the basis of landform Feng Shui. Later, the compass formula Feng Shui was developed through many centuries of observation. Then, through many generations of dedicated scholars, the flying stars compass formula was developed.

Flying Stars Compass formula provides a systematic method to locate this invisible energy in our environment. The flying star formula is one of the most powerful and effective feng shui practiced by the Chinese for generations.
