Feng Shui Architect - Feng Shui Afflictions in Architectural Design

Today's society is getting more aware of the impact and effect of feng shui of a house to their life, especially in Asian countries like Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore. The awareness of feng shui has begun to spread globally the last 20 years.  Properties that incorporate feng shui principles in exterior landscaping, interior design and architectural concept are more sought after  by house buyers and owners. Properties that have basic feng shui design afflictions are onlky bought by a hand of people who are ignorant of feng shui.

Due to this awareness, property developers and architects have to be more conscious in the design of houses or properties for sale.  Properties that has commonly known feng shui afflictions do not sell or is hard to sell. For examples, property that faces a T-junction is a well-known fact that is hard to sell.

From my many years of feng shui practices, there are many common feng shui afflicted designed properties. Some design maybe due to cost-saving and others are just designed by architects who are not aware of feng shui principles.

For the benefits of architects and property developers, I have summarized some of the common design that has feng shui afflictions as follow:

Main door built under the toilet/bathroom of the upper floor of a double storey house.

Bedroom built above a kitchen of the lower floor of a double storey house.

Front door and back door facing each other.

Front door facing directly to a large window of a balcony of an apartment.

Kitchen & dining area located near entrance  and living room at the back of a house
